Do you think that there will be an update for the iPod touch 2g to add a home screen background? I really want it and won't jailbreak my 8gb iPod touch

Nope. Apple usually doesn't flip-flop on their choices.

May I ask why you won't jailbreak? It's very simple and you can get wallpaper and multitasking. You don't even have to use Cydia if you don't want to.

Yeah why not jailbreak??? It gives you wallpapers by default when you jailbreak

First of all jailbreaking can give your iDevice a virus, also it completely cancels out all warranty

Spirit dosn't, and you can never brick your iPod, so you will always be able to restore.

Apple has made one of the dumbest decisions today. basically if you didn't have a 3GS or. Third hen iPod touch the only thing we got was iBooks, folders, and spotlight is able to search the web. That's it. My jailbroken iPod can multitask, have backrounds and etc fine. I think it is a lame excuse that "the hardware" wouldn't be enough to handle it which is somewhat true. All they had to do was limit the number of apps you can background. But it is all good though this is a very disappointing update for almost 80% of idevice owners can enjoy the full feTures but at least I can get Ll the features with jailbreaking and/or a plush edit.

I think they are doing this to convince us to buy a newer more expensive product. I bought my iPod touch in late October of '09. It shouldn't be outdated and not be able to get the newer update. I can't afford to get my iPhone yet and why should I upgrade my iPod touch that still has 4gb on it?
