    My iPod shuts down.

I tried to start it and the apple screen comes up and shuts back down.

    IT STILL HAS BATTERY.

You could restore it from iTunes... You'll also lose everything on it right now.

I'm curious. How did it happen in the first place ?

It doesn't turn on so you should except it not to show on iTunes.

I was syncing and it just happened.

DFU it, and it will stay on and be recognized by itunes. unless of course, it a hardware problem.

RavenII did you get it to work or still not like that.

Some kind of iTunes virus cause it did while sync.

    try this..
    turn off ipod completely!
hold the home button for 5 seconds and plug it in to your computer and still hold until you see the connect to itunes screen..
    then try to restore
