    Hey there
Around 1 week ago, my friend borrowed me his iPod Touch.
I wanted to charge it, because the battery was too low..
It did charge when I connected it with USB to my Mac, but guess what:
I connected it to the wall charger, in the socket, which I bought some time ago, and it said: "Charging is not supported with this accessory" (See screenshot). The iPod Touch 2G is not compatible with the wall charger! Well, meaning Apple disabled it. It does work with my 1G though! When I connected it to the wall charger from Apple, it does work! So, if you have a 2G and you want to buy a wall charger, only buy one from Apple!
You can see the screenshots below!
The Third one shows the charger that I used. NOT the Apple one!
The Fourth image shows the Apple charger!
    Thank you

Are Griffin chargers from Apple? Because my Dad had a Griffin charger for his iPod Video that he never used so he gave it to me and it works fine with my 8GB 2G iPod touch.

yeah, with the 2g apple disabled firewire charging so you will find that everything that charged your 1g wont charge your 2g..... its with all 3rd party things that use firewire to charge

same with me, i hate it.

    Hmm..
    Is it an Apple charger?
The Apple charger looks like this (And you probably have that one) :

    Yes, that's pretty cheap..
But.. That will only work for iPhones, iPod Touch 1G, etc.
It will NOT work with your 2G

I have the Apple charger, and even that says it won't support charging on my 2G, so I don't think the Apple chargers work for the 2G either.

Actually, you're wrong about every single non-Apple charger being incompatible. I have a wall charger that I had for my Nano by Music Power (PowerLine brand) and it works just fine for my iPod touch 2g.

Apple probably makes them compatible for certain versions only, just so that they can get you to buy a whole new one for each separate device.
