    Dears,

I had a jailbroken iPod touch 2g for nearly 6 months. Yesterday, when it was playing, it lost power ( it was on low power actually ) and turned off. The problem is, it wont turn on again.

When i connect it to my PC ( win XP ) with USB, a pop up message appears that reads : USB Device Not Recognized. and iTunes cannot see the iPod.

    I have tried:

    1. leaving the iPod charging for several hours --> no avail.
    2. Pressing and holding HOME button when plugging in the USB cable --> no avail.
    3. Pressing and Holding HOME and POWER button for 10 seconds --> no avail.

the screen is still black and i can do nothing.

there is no apple store or service center nearby so any help and suggestions are appreciated.

    have you tried DFU mode?
Also, try switching USB ports or checking on a friends computer, your USB ports may be at fault
Last thing i could recommend is to try reinstalling itunes

I have this problem, but when i do it... no notification comes up telling me.
When i got to the end of it jailbreaking, it said rebooting... after that, nothing.

what you need to do is go to my site page
    i have a link for a for a redsn0w booter. it goes to [PIRACY.mu].com
    download the software.

you put into DFU mode, start the booter, make sure it recognizes an ipod touch in dfu mode, press any key to continue and it will do the work for you
    no need to restore.
    there ya go
