It wont do nothing. Wont turn on, wont be detected in iTunes. Just completely dead black screen. Ive tried DFU mode and recovery mode. Neither will work at all. Just wont turn on.

I have done DFU and recovery mode properly. Ive jailbreaked 3 iPod touches and 2 iPhones. So I know how to DFU

Would appreciate help. Im completely stumped. Don't know how to fix it. Its just like a brick at the moment. Cant do nothing with it.

Just avoid DFU remarks, it is completely black. No response whatsoever.

    Thank you everyone!

Plug it in and push sleep and home until it is recognized (which can take some time). Did the trick for me once.

What were you doing right before it turned off?

    Maybe the battery has failed.

Call Apple and see what they have to say. Sounds to me like you've got a dead device. Tough Luck

Sounds like the exact problem I have. I decided it must be a hardware issue sense it will not enter DFU mode or even give any indication of actually working. The question then becomes, is it just the battery or is something like the logic board. If the former, it might worth fixing. But if the latter, well you're better off buying a new iPt4.

As steelersfan32 asked, what were you doing before it turned off and when did you notice it was having a problem?
