I heard in a forum that an ipod touch has a charge limit, that you can only charge a certain number of times. Is this true?

Well, obviously after many, many battery charge cycles, you will eventually lose some capacity, but it is nothing to worry about. My iPod touch has been charged and discharged numerous times over its one year carreer and I haven't noticed a significant drop in its ability to hold a charge.

    Hey,
in the 1 and 2Gen touch is an Lithium-ion battery obstructed. That means you can charge the battery by 80% too 100% and nthing will happed. Afer a time the battery life will be shorter.

I've read several things that indicate that the battery does in fact have a limited number of charging cycles before it's capacity becomes reduced.

Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charge cycles and may eventually need to be replaced (see www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/battery). Battery life and number of charge cycles vary by use and settings. See www.apple.com/batteries for more information. (7) For iPod touch with Maps, the Maps application provides your approximate location using information

This can be found in the footnotes on this page:

    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_ipod/family/ipod_touch?intcmp=AIC-WWW-NAUS-BUYNOW-HEAD-IPODTOUCH-080910

I've read that the iPod Touch and iPhone battery has 400 charging cycles before you will see the capacity drop off. You can find that information on this page at the bottom right under charging cycles.

Honestly, it may do something, but don't worry about it.
There are probably hundreds of things that "mess up your battery."
Like using it while it's charging, only charging it when it has really low battery, etc.
If you worry about all of the stuff, you'll never get to use it!
Plus, if the battery ever screws up, and you have the warranty, you can go get a new one FREE!
    I hope I helped!
