Just bought my friend an ipod touch 2g for his birthday. I want to get him a case for it. I know his phone case is all black.

So I need the case to be:

    -All Black

    -Rubber/silicone

    -fits snug, no looseness

-not that thick but offers protection

For an all silicone, go Pixelskin. It's a great case.
If you want a case with silicone under a hard shell, then go for the NeoTouch.

I have both cases, and I prefer the Neo over the Speck, but that's just because I like the sleekness of the Neo.

do not get the speck pixelskin in black.
its an amazing case but the black tends to gather dust.
the colored pixelskins dont and work great.
i know because i have a black one lol

i suggest an incipio tribal in black.
i do not know much about them but they are supposed to be the best out there after the pixelskin.

Yeah, my black one catches so much damn lint.
It's not that bad, but it's annoying wiping it off.

I just got the iPod Touch 2G Black "Air Jacket" set from power support at the Bridgeport Apple Store, that includes one "crystal film" and one "anti-glare film" that leave no residue so you can try one film and then try the other one.

The 1 mm thin "Air Jacket" is open at the top, side and bottom for the controls, also some of the underlying silver case shows at the openings and all around the screen. The "Air Jacket" pictured at the website link I provided is not "snapped" in-place. The "Air Jacket" actually has only a silver rim around the screen, plus the silver showing at the openings. It looks good.

I purchased this case, because I figured I would have trouble applying the "skins" from other brands.

I am more than happy I purchased this case:

    1. The "skins" are easily applied and have a good surface.

    2. The snap-on case does not collect "lint" or fingerprints, although little "bits" will get caught in the edges.

note: I don't mind this: little "bits" get caught at the edges of the iPod Touch screen itself.

    3. I like the "feel" of this case in my hand. I like this so much, I think this is a "selling" point.

    4. I didn't like the clunky-feel of other cases.

    5. It slides nicely into my pocket.

The case has a matte "rubberized" finish. Maybe this case would be a good selection for your friend?
