I have owned a nano for a little while and often plugged it into my amp thru the headphone jack. However, my new Ipod Touch 2G cannot output to speakers the thru headphone jack. No sound comes out. Is this normal? Do I need a special cable or a dock or something? Sorry for the newbie question, but if I had known this I wouldn't have bought one...

Hmmm, this certainly is not normal... But is the cable you're using the type that has auxillary function?

That's the cable I use to connect with both my Altec Lansing speakers as well as the car radio actually... And the sound comes out like normal, without any major hitches...

Is the volume up? Stupid question, but it can happen...

Very odd! It doesn't like my Sony RCA cables at home but at work it outputs fine with a JVC cable!
