I keep on hearing things about jailbreaking the new 3.0 firmware for iPod Touch 2G, and I got to thinking: "I wonder what would happen if I upgraded to 3.0 with a jailbroken 2.2.1 software iPod."

SO, my question to you guys is, what would happen if I upgraded to 3.0 with a jailbroken iPod.

AND, if bad things would happen, what would I need to do to prevent that from happening?

You would lose your jailbreak and be on 3.0...

I suggest that you restore to 2.2.1 original before 3.0

But what I did is I DFU+Restored to ensure that NO problems at all would happen.

Just look up a guide for DFU mode, or go to youtube and type DFU Mode iPod touch, what DFU does is that when you DFU plus restore, it makes sure that your iPod is pretty much brand new with no traces left behind.

So DFU + Restore, jailbreak with redsn0w 0.7.1, not 0.7.2 (its sketchy)

I'd DFU to play it safe.
I've been hearing about mad bugs.
    It's not pretty.

    Uhm...

I put it into DFU mode and now when I try to restore it it says error 1604, and that there is no software available for the iPod. There are also white letters on the iPod screen that wont stop unless I turn it off.
