    Hi,

So I currently own an iPod Touch 2G running 3.0 jailbroken, but I noticed that some app store apps now require 3.1 firmware or above, and I noticed that 3.1.3 has some issues or troubles maybe, so I'll just go with 3.1.2 just to be safe.

Anyways, my question is basically how I can preserve as much as my data as possible?

I think I can use applications such as Apt/Appbackup to back up cydia apps? But I'm not very sure how these work?

Also how does "restoring from backup" work in iTunes? Can I back up my iPod now, DFU then restore to 3.1.2 f/w then restore from backup, does that give me stuff like notes & game data? What about pictures in the "saved photos" folder?

So yeah if you can help me with advice & options and stuff on how I can back up as much as possible, thanks

You cannot backup jailbroken apps with iTunes. Just use aptbackup and do as it says!

Wait hold on, I'm moving from 3.0 jailbroken to 3.1.2 on my ipod touch 2g too. Will the thing about Apple not signing the firmware or whatever affect me?
