Ok, i have a jailbroken 2g ipod touch with 2.2.1 firmware.
I recently discovered that many apps on the app store require the 3.o software update.
    My question is:
Can i upgrade it and at the same time keep my cydia apps/thems/comics i've downloaded in my touch?
If yes, what is the easiest or safest way?
I find it really hard to keep on with the whole update/required files thing that's going on around here and i really need help.
I don't have any cracked apps, just freebies and cydia stuff.

    <3 Cracked Apps = Bad.
    Don't go near them.

    Anywho,
I don't think there is a way of keeping your Cydia Packages.
Although you could just re-download them, it doesn't take that long.
    :/

AptBackup - creates a list of installed apps and backs them through the iTunes backup system. Then update and redownload AptBackup from cydia, open it and press restore. Won't keep your themes but it keeps most of your cydia packages

SSH into your device and you can manually backup themes and applications.

For applications go to the path /Applications and take out all the .app folders you want to keep.

For themes go to /Var/Stash/Themes and take your themes from there.

To re install, just drag and drop them back again to the directory you initially took them from.

No do not do this. Use AptBackup. It's a lot easier. The way to go about this is to just upgrade and jailbreak it again.
