From the looks of it there isn't going to be a JB for the 2nd gen in the near future, if at all. They haven't even found an exploit yet, and assuming they do, it will require a hardware change, which in effect would kill the whole enterprise. I saw a recent news item that owners of new Mac Books discovered that they can't JB either (even earlier models), due to some update. It looks like Apple is finally catching up with the JBers. The JB developers might eventually find something, but I would predict that it won't be really useable to non-geeks like the current one-button solutions such as QuickPwn. We also note that the developers of WinPwn essentially abandoned the project. If new buyers can't JB people will lose interest. Not to mention the app store which significantly reduced the advantages of JBing.

    1. No, its not yet possible to jailbreak the second generation.

    2. No one in their right mind would post the Beta of Firmware 2.2 for you. If its not illegal, then it breaks the contract that developers signed with Apple.

Stop spreading FUD, you're making yourself look incredibly stupid.
A jailbreak will eventually come and it will not require a hardware change.
The new MacBooks don't specifically target jailbreaking, it is simply a bug.

You think Apple left a bug in the MacBook to stop jailbreaking, and Apple plans to patch that bug?

Where did you learn your common sense? I'd like to burn that place down.

Excuse me, but where did you learn your common sense?
Why would a large company modify their laptops to disallow an important (and industry standard) mode from being used on their devices?
    They wouldn't.
Notice that new MacBooks ship with a new build of iTunes (which currently only exists on these new models), and iTunes will end up interfering with your device.

The Dev Team thinks it's a bug also.
    See here and here.

Stop believing everything you read on Gizmodo, it's a stupid site.
