ipod touch 2.0 ssh music

    Hi guys i am wondering if there is any way which people can transfer music to there Ipod touch via 2.0 on Linux ( maybe using ssh) i have found the folder which the music goes into
    and have tried it but it doesn't show up maybe i could play the files from the downloads directory ( but cant find a music player in cydia

    ) i need to know as i have just bought an intempo rebel ( rips music from radio without dj's/adverts) and would like to transfer the files directly to my ipod touch instead of waiting 10 mins for the windows PC to fire up any help would be appreciated.

    AFAIK, Apple changed the hash signature for the song database in firmware 2.x. The algorithm now used is still unknown, and libgpod (the backend library used in Linux to access the song database) is currently unable to function correctly. In fact, it corrupts the database... I have found this the hard way. The only current workaround is to downgrade to 1.1.4.
