I'm running version 1.1.1. Yeah, old right? lol
Well this just happend. Ive had the same firmware going since it came out and didn't do anything with it lately.
I decided to plug it into my computer to finally update it, nothing happend. I switched usb ports, still nothing.
I then got another cable from my friend, same problem.
Now that computer was a desktop pc. Then i plugged it into my macbook. Still nothing.
It's as if i didn't do anything, the iPod dosn't know and the computer dosent know.
I restored it, reset it etc. and all my apps from the jailbreak are still on there.
How can i get this thing to just get reconized by my computer so i can do a full restore?
Can i connect somehow with SSH?

This is pretty frustrating because my old ipod mini connected fine with both comptuers and with the same cable -___-

Please help i need this fixed before next monday xD

Try DFU mode or plugging it in while holding home.

The "connect to iTunes logo appears as it should, nothing happens.

Does that make it a hardware problem?

BTW: never mentioned before, ive been charging my ipod with a dock stereo so i havent charged it with the computer. Just getting that out of the way.

and yes the dock reconizes the ipod

use another user account and another USB port on the computer and restore. most likely it will work.
