Yes, i know apple isnt continuing upgrades for the iphone 2g or ipod touch 1g anymore, but how hard would it be to port it to either of the two? i would think not that hard but im just wondering

It will be pretty close to impossible! Even if someone starts on it it is highly unlikely that they will want to finish due to the fact that it will be so hard to code the firmware for those devices since the codes simply don't exist! The best thing you can do if you have a 1st. Gen. iDevice is to use Winterboard themes and mess with your .plist files to get the 4.0 look and feel.

Ugh. Just so you know, it's not impossible. I was talking to geohot, bigboss and comex about this. Comex told me it's possibly but more on the difficult side to edit a closed source kernel and bigboss and geohot said it may be able to run 4.0 features in the 3.1.3 userspace. So i'd just wait until the final release of 4.0 because nobody is working on the betas.

I guess it wouldn't be inpossible, but if you decide to port, good luck

From what I get, it's easier to port Android than an iPhone OS to an unsupported device..
