I don't want to make you sound stupid, but couldn't you just open it manually

heres what you do. Open up the start menu from windows and go to(run) and type in service.msc and a list should come up. And there's one called apple mobile devices. Highlight the apple mobile devices and on the top left corrner it should say stop and restart. Click stop. And then it should say start. Click that and then restart. This should restart everything and you will be able to sync with iTunes again. Just plug in your iPod and iTunes should recognize it. The thing is. You might have to do this every time you want to sync. If this doesn't work you might have the wrong driver installed. The diver you need is apple mobile devices. Hope this helps.
