Sent Ipod back to Apple... question..

I'm insanely scared out of my mind I was trying to downgrade my Ipod Touch 2G 4.0 down to 3.1.2 and when it was rebooting with Recboot it froze, I have a 64 bit computer so I think that is why it wouldnt work. Now my ipod wont turn on and wont go into DFU mode it is stuck on this screen.

    sorry for the fuzzy image

******Update Okay so the ipod I sent in was not jailbroken but was put into an infinite loop by the Recboot program, will they still fix it?

Are you sure you are doing DFU mode right? It should always work since it is hardware not software.

This is how you do DFU
    1. Make sure the iPod is off and plugged in.
    2. Hold the power button for three seconds.
    3. Hold the home and power button for ten seconds.
    4. Release the power button and hold home until your device is recognized in iTunes.

Also does your computer recognize your iPod?

It does not recognize it at all.
Yes I am pretty sure I am doing DFU correct. I have done it times before but this time it just messed up bad.
After I do the DFU it just takes me back to the screen shown in my picture.

Yes it goes blank then to the appel logo and then straight to that screen in the pic.
    Its just a loop.

Hey did you try to hold the power button and the home button at the same time for like 30 secs?
    If not, then try.
Contact me if you still have problems.

It sounds like you are stuck in a recovery loop
Try one of these guides found here
    http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=298576

    Or
Fix most recovery boot loop issues:
If neither those work keep trying DFU as I'm pretty sure you are doing it wrong

I will try it thank you for your help, but I believe REcboot is what got me in this situation since I used it without installing the libusb because i am on 64 bit.
    I really appreciate the help!
