I just bought my daughter an ipod touch, it keeps shutting down on her after listening to music for about 1 minute, sometimes less. I have tried resetting the ipod, as well as the directions to press and hold the sleep/wake button at the same time as home button.

Nothing is working... were both frustrated.

    Can any one offer suggestions.

    Thank you.

    Have you tried restoring it?

    Is it jailbroken?

Ok well then, try restoring it using default firmare, what version are you currently using? 1.1.4, 1.1.3 or 1.1.2/1.1.1. As I can see you have not yet found out about jailbreaking so I'll leave that til later.

Yeah I'll inform him about that later. Right now he needs to fix the iPod!

Now, put your iPod into recovery mode (you will lose everything on it)

Do this by: 1) holding both buttons
    2) when the apple logo appears let go of the top button ONLY!
    3) an itunes icon should appear if done correctly
