Something weird is happening to my iPod. When I try to turn it on, the iPod automatically shuts off after a few seconds on the apple logo screen. I don't think it has anything to do with the battery, it was fine when i turned it off. It is a first gen, non-jailbroken, and running 3.0 software. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

I guess that could work. But is there a way that involves me not having to wipe out everything?

Probably not. I don't think you can SSH into your iPod if it shuts off during boot.

you might be able to use i-FunBox since it's hardwired and pretty much like SSH... if that's useful to change startup settings...

    Too late, it's already restoring.

I guess that's indeed the best option... Do let us know if restoring helps to solve your problem, buddy!

Have you tried turning it off and then turning back on again?

More seriously - did you fix it with a restore?
