Your iPod is NOT under warranty. Apple only fixes defective iPods, not iPods ruined by carelessness.

By dropping the iPod, you've voided your warranty entirely. It could catch fire, spray glass shards everywhere, have a BSOD, then explode and open a gateway to hell. That wouldn't matter, because Apple would just say "Well. You dropped it. That sometimes happens."

You'll have to pay to have it fixed.

    Your so funny.

It costs $200 for the first generation iPod touch's screen to be repaired. Not sure about second generation, but just call and they will tell you.

And that's insane for a screen repair. I was guessing $50-$60. $200? Ouch.

Exactly. You'd be crazy to spend $200 to fix the screen. Especially if you have an 8GB Touch.
