First off, everything is fixed, iTunes was able to restore it as a backup so I retained all my stuff.

This morning I plugged in my iPod to add a song real quick before school, plugged it in and the sync screen flashed for a quick second before the device rebooted itself for some reason. Then iTunes recognized it as a new iPod and asked to set it up as a new device or as a backup. I started to freak out but then restored it as a backup. Got all my stuff back but I'm curious as to why my iPod rebooted itself after simply plugging it into my computer to add a song. Has anyone had this happen before or was this just some weird glitch?

No it wasn't stuck in restore mode, it went into restore mode by itself somehow, I just restored using the backup file iTunes makes and kept all my music and 3rd party apps

Hell of a weird glitch then, everything seemed normal today when I used it, had a minor hiccup on one of my songs but that might have been due to NES.app running

yeh but if you use independance it gets it out of restore mode without restoring, and evrything is still on the ipod.

Jailbreaking makes stuff a little more unstable. I deal with that insecurity in order to enjoy so many benefits.
