I wanted to restore my ipod to 1.1.4 because the 2.0 apple link I downloaded today kept crashing my mail.app and I clicked on Restore on Itunes and it's automatically downloading the 2.0 update without charging me.

I hope not, cause usually they warn you that they're going to charge you before you download something. I would be really pissed if that happens since I practically got it for free this morning but it kept crashing my mail.app.

The reason for the crashing sounds like you didn't setup the ipod as a new ipod and instead resored a backup... that has happened to me a few times...

I'm not lying. I downloaded it and installing it right now. I don't know if it will get an error though. I will update you guys.

*UPDATE* It was successful. It didn't crash at all! =D

*UPDATE* There was one minor error, which was it would not let me restore the backup, but rather restore it as a new ipod. Luckily, I backed up everything so I can easily sync it.

    Here's proof:

no. this is different. It happened to me too. I plugged in my 1.1.4 iPod and clicked on Check for Updates. It downloaded for free and I have all of the January Apps on there.
