When I plug my iTouch 4g into my computer it recognizes it as a camera device, is there any way to change it to recognize it as it would a normal ipod (i.e my nano2g i can get into all the files and stuff)

Not through My Computer, but i would suggest Iphone browser or iphone explorer to access the files.

All iPod Touches have done that. You can't access it through My Computer. You need to use 3rd party software to access the files, like iPhone browser...etc. just like iRa1n said.

iOS file system doesn't allow for drag 'n' drop - it's not formatted in a way that Windows or OSX can read, just the iTunes software, or programs based around iTunes' background processes.

I like how you can save your pictures that you save on the touch on to your computer.

It has done this ever since the screenshot feature was implemented, in iPhone OS 2.0.

The entire /var/mobile/Media directory is mountable, the only issue is that it's formatted with a filesystem Windows can't read. Most other OSes can, so either use Linux or download a program like iPhone explorer.
