    Alright, so i have heard its because i once used ziphone, but whatever. My iPod Touch, 2.2 jailbroken, whenever I try to sync it begins to sync and then just stops. the iPod says its still syncing and itunes looks like no ipod is connected.

    i dont understand the problem. im using a macbook the usb ports are fine.

    I had a similar problem with my new iPod classic 120GB.
    It kept disconnecting automatically during the sync (as if it was idle for too long).
    I've seen cases where they exchange the "broken" device with a new one at Apple Store.
    Anyway, what worked for me was:
    Note: This will ERASE ALL DATA on the device.

    1. Connect the iPod to the computer;
    2. Run iTunes and choose Restore for the iPod;
    2.1. If the device disconnects during that process just unplug and plug the cable again until it is really restored;
    3. The device is rebooted and when it started again worked fined and synced about 10.000 songs at once without any further issues.

    You might also want to disable "Disk Use" at least for before the initial sync.
    Hope this might help someone.
