I left my iPod to sit yesterday... and I came back to it about 5 hours later it wouldn't turn on, so I just thought Oh! a nice DFU mode would kick it back into shape...

.... My computer wouldn't even recognize that it was plugged in! I tried DFU mode, my computer won't recognize it, I tried it on my Macintosh... nothing....

Any suggestions? I had 3.0 on it unregistered, but I made sure that it was safe, I unblocked iTunes from the web from Firewall, and I made sure that my wireless switch was off...

I was just going to go and put 3.0 beta 4 when that happened.... any suggestions???
This is for my 2G... It just wiill not for the life of me turn on or be recognized by the computer..... I might have to send it in to apple... but I don't know what they will say considering my UDID was not registered

How about go back to more stable 2.2.1?

If you had Beta 4, you needed iTunes 8.2 prereleases.

Try charging it. And then try to restore again.

ok, im sorry but u kno the deal, ur desperately searching for help because u think that ur "bricked" even tho the word isnt mentioned

IT IS NOT, just keep trying dfu, if that doesnt work, dl redtool and use the kick into recovery mode feature, if THAT doesnt work, then buy a new ipod and learn ur lesson about not registering

btw, if u do get it to work, go back to 2.2.1, because itunes 8.2 will not let u upgrade to beta 4 if ur not registered
