each time i try and restore it i get the famous 1604 error. Ive tried many things and still get the error. Some people have told me to try to restore it in DFU mode, but whenever i try and put it in itunes come up with an error saying "an error has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the ipod, then try again. An unknown error occurred (1601)". So i cant even attempt to restore it in DFU mode. Anyone have any suggestions.

plug it in then put it in DFU mode regardless of the errors.
