Is it time for the all mighty compressed air?

My ipod has done this before, and I forgot how i fixed it, but now I can't listen to audio. Note, it's not my headphones : )

I was listening to music, put it in my pocket and it paused. Ok, play. And it paused.

Now, no music is being played WHEN the headphones are 100% in the jack. I can hold it midway and hear sound. Now it will either play and then instantly stop or play for a little, skip then stop.

So, my ipod will play audio... But not for an extended period of time. It last did this in about December.

Something along the lines of losing connection with the headphones making it seem like the headphones has been unplugged.

Yikes, sounds like the problem is within your headphone jack, the same thing happened to my 1st gen nano and i never was able to fix it. Lets hope you still have warranty?
