Umm im trying to jailbreak an 2g ipod touch for my friend and for some reason its not working. His ipod firmware is 3.1.3 and my itunes is 9.0.2 . Everytime blackra1n jailbreaks it and it says enjoy your jailbroken ipod after the reboot, its stuck in force restore mode. Meaning the screen is black (blank), but it acts as if it is in recovery mode. Is the itunes version not right or the ipod? Please tell me I'm going to have to downgrade Firmwares.

3.1.3 Isn't jailbreakable with blakcra1n... Also even if it did work, you need to run it twice...

only thing you can jailbreak for 3.1.3 is redsn0w
if you want blackra1n then you have to downgrade(lucky he has a 2g) with a shift+restore and a .ipsw file

And don't ask for the .ipsw file here. But yes, like J-Phone said, get redsnow, although it is a bit more complicated. Or downgrade and use blackra1n.

yeah. redsn0w can be a lil complicated. but its wayyy less buggy and has boot/recovery logo and verbose boot support!
