Recently, I accidently upgraded to itunes 8.2.1.6 and every since, now when i connect my ipod isnt being recognized. It's like when i connect usb it charges and everything but I'm unable to sync music, anyone know how I can fix this? I tried downgrading iTunes to the previous version but everytime I try to open I get a "library.itl" error.. i hate i upgrading, everything was perfect.. anyone knows a solution?

    Thanks

Can you post a screenshot with the error ?

The only "library.itl" I could find on my PC was "iTunes Library.itl". You could try switching the library by holding Shift while iTunes starts and choosing another folder (or another drive) to dump the settings and everything else. But it will probably erase everything on the iPod now... since you'll create a new library.

How could this have happened ? Corrupted iTunes library ? Maybe you should ask at the Apple discussion forums: http://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa

The .itl is a problem with the iTunes Library file.

Since you updaTed iTunes, iTunes updated your iTunes library file, so it can only be used with iTunes 8.2.1.6

What I suggest is to switch the USB ports, try it again, and if it still doesn't work, do this:

Go to Add or Remove Programs (assuming you have Windows)
    Uninstall the following:

    Apple Mobile Devicd Support
    Bonjour
    iTunes
    QuickTime

    Now go to www.iTunes.com
    Reinstall iTunes (8.2.1.6)

    Restart
    Try again.
