Does your iPod charge while connected? Try another USB port.

Yes my ipod charges when it's plugged in. It can't be just an iTunes problem if it doesn't show up anywhere else. I tried a different computer, one that ive plugged my ipod into before and has shown up. It doesn't have iTunes but it didn't even show up this time.

Yeah I tried all the ports. And I just tried it on a third computer and it recognizes it. What could be wrong with the other computers?

Maybe your usb cable is bad(some wire broke off) and when you moving it, it gets contact in some position(like headphones usually do). So solution is:
    1. Try different cable to be 100% sure.
    2. Try moving your cable while ipod is plugged in.
