Hi all. I've been searching high and low through the internetz and have had absolutely no luck.

I have a iPod Touch 32GB that is kernel panicing. I've tried to restore several times and have had no luck.

(some code omitted, I can provide if needed)
    panic(cpu 0 caller 0xC0068D44) kernel abort type 4
    Debugger message: panic
    OS version: Not set yet
Kernel version: Darwin Kernel version 9.4.1 Mon Dec 8 21:02:57 PST 2008
    iBootversion: iBoot-385.49
    Secure boot: YES
    Paniclog Version :1

****** DUMPING THREAD STATE AND STACKS ******
    panic: we are hanging here....uation

This is when I try to restore. When I boot it up, it goes directly to recovery mode.

Ummm...Try DFU mode restore. Press and hold home and power button for 10 seconds for a reboot, and then release the power button all while plugged into the computer.

2nd Gen Ipod Touch, 32 GB. Not jailbroken. Not covered by warranty either.

Not sure what was on there before the crash. Latest iTunes. I tried restoring with the default apple restore firmware, & the 3.0 firmware. Both no dice.

The furthest i've got it to go was to get to the apple logo screen with a loading circle at the bottom just going around and around.

The PC says: Preparing iPod for restore (while the circle is loading)
Then - The Ipod could not be restored.

ok make sure you have the right firmware for your ipod model

also try with the latest 3.1.2 fw, i think that itunes 9 (aka the latest itunes) does NOT restore to fw 3.0

you need either fw 3.1 or 3.1.2
