I was about to jailbreak my ipod touch 2nd generation today. i hadn't downloaded any programs yet, and was just updating my firmware to 2.2.1 (i hadn't updated in a while) and right about when it was done, I heard the disconnected tone, and my ipod said connect to itunes, so i did... then i heard 4 tones (all the same) I've tried DFU and itunes isn't recognizing it... What can i do to fix this? Probably really easy but i just don't know how.

Are you doing the steps to get to DFU correctly?

Check to see if your iPod drivers are installed correctly.

DFU should always be easily recognized since it's seperate to the OS
