Ipod is Disabled

    my ipod got disabled and now says "ipod is disabled connect to itunes"
    and when i connect it to itunes it says cannot connct ipod becaude its locked wat do i do???

    hold the home and sleep button till the screen goes black then let go of the sleep button but keep holding the home button until the connect to itunes screen shows

    is restoring it the only way ????

    and if i restore it what firmware will it be

    It'll be whatever firmware you choose, unless you just click restore rather than Shift-Restore. In that case it would be 1.1.4.

    when it locks doesnt it usually say "ipod disabled try again in (blank) minutes"?
    you then just have to wait that time and it should be un-disabled

    also holding home and sleep wont make you restore if you let go as soon as the screen turns off. -that'll just reboot you ipod, maybe that would fix it-
    if you keep holding the home button then you do end up in recovery mode.
