iPod in the toilet!

    so my ipod touch fell in the toilet today for a max of about 40secs.
    Ive checked multiple times the paper thing didnt turn red
    as soon as i fetched it out of the toilet I tried to turn it on I know that was a bad idea but i was frantic but it didnt turn on
    I have it in a bag of rice currently
    I have the recpiet and im still under the 1yr apple warrenty I know they dont cover water damage
    what can I do?

    ... are you sure it didn't turn red? if it was there for 40 secs either you're really lucky and an air bubble somehow stayed in there or you just aren't seeing it. You shouldn't have turned it on... but you know that... sucks when you panic. If it doesn't work after a few days try taking it back to apple.

    You're right, turning it on wasn't the brightest idea...

    But don't give up just yet. Leave it in there for a day or two.
    If it still doesn't turn on, check if that paper is red again.

    If it still doesn't work and the paper is still white, take it to Apple.
    I don't see how it's possible that the iPod fell into a toilet for 40 seconds and the paper can NOT turn red. That would be miraculous for a small parcel of air to be stuck in the headphone input and stay there against the paper while it was submerged in water.
    That, or it was faulty paper
