Is there an app or a hidden menu/option that will allow you to record video while holding the iPT 4G vertically just like a Flip Mino?

Holding it in the landscape orientation isn't really that bad but I think it'll be a lot more comfortable if you could hold it vertically. Any suggestions? Is there a menu or option I missed that does exactly this?

You can hold it vertically... What's the problem?

You could, but your video would be in the portrait orientation. I want to hold it vertically AND get landscape video output.

You sure? I thought it senses that it was recorded in portrait mode and automatically flips the video...

i doubt it would be possible. the image sensor is 1080 by 720 pixels, stuck in there in that vertical orientation. you cant rotate the sensor, so it switches to vertical video when held vertically. on the other hand it might be able to output in a lower resolution like 720 by 405 or something like that. but that would take some plist skillz i would think

I thought the orientation of the video is down to software?

okay, so inside your ipod there is a rectangular image sensor, parallel to the ipod's rectangular screen. when held vertically, the image sensor is also vertical. when held horizontally, the image sensor is horizontal. it cant shoot a horizontal video while being held vertically. get it?
