I've jailbreaked my ipod touch via jailbreakme.com. After installing some apps, the home screen failed to display the apps installed (including the installer). Thinking that it is some kind of glitch, I rebooted my touch and it now freezes at the apple logo whenever i turn it on.

I am unable to go into recovery mode nor can my itunes detect the presence of my touch connected to the computer. What should I do?

    That's the fastest way..

But if there is another,... then I don't know

    1. You should pray to god.
    2. Go to http://www.apple.com/ and find out the nearest Apple Store
    3. Have a coffee now and go to the apple store
    4. Told them to fix it
    5. Wait for a week and went back to the store
    6. Get it back
    7. Remind yourself not to install too much applications

Wow, does jailbreaking breaks the warranty?

try holding the home button and the sleep button until it turns off, then release the sleep button, but still hold the home button. a "connect-to-itunes" logo should appear. happy restoring =)

Yes, Jailbreaking void the warranty, but since you can't boot your iPod, is likely that people from Apple can't do as well.
If they restore your iPod, well... is restored and your jailbreak will be gone, therefore they can't realize your iPod was jailbreaked.
Of course, if they have any chance to see what is inside your iPod before restoring it, this could a problem.

i had a smiliar problem and couldn't go to recovery mode either so just went to the apple store and got a new one in 30min, nice and unscratched, i think i accidently deleted the /sbin folder and when i next turned it on it couldnt start.
If you have an apple store close to you and you got a scratched ipod, just dele the sbin folder and you get a new one

Kay, first of all, if you're iPod is "bricked", it's pretty much obvious that you have jailbroken it.
Second, just restore and GTF over it, please? If you cannot restore: hold sleep button + home button for about half a minute and it should tell you to restore. After that, connect your iPod to your computer with iTunes open and it WILL work.

    Thank you.

Try putting your iPod in DFU (or something like that)
