Hi, hope some one can help me please.........

My sons IPOD touch 32GB has been jail broken however the application continues to freeze when switched on. The "slide to unlock" button scrolls but the whole screen is completely unresponsive.

I have tried to reset and restore but without success.

I have got to the itunes and usb icons by pressing the top button and menu button at the same time. Then when i get into itunes it says that i need to reset the unit and starts to down load the latest software. After 44 mins the download completes but then repeatedly times out with a 3259 error.

I have tried this many times with and without my firewall.

    Anybody got any ideas?

    All help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

The start up application when you switch on the ipod.

Also the IPOD still works when plugged in to a docking station. It just seems to be the touch screen that is locked.

Download the firmware file (Google), put the iPod into DFU mode (Google) then click restore in iTunes.

    Ipwnnubletz - thanks.

I managed to download the software and reset my ipod back to the default settings.

    However .....

The screen still does the same thing. It is as if the screen is locked (broken) somehow. When I switch on the "slide to unlock" scrolls but the arrow button is dim as if disabled.

I can also get the "slide to power off" screen and this does the same thing. The arrow botton does not work and the cancel button at the bottom of the screen is the same.

It is almost like a "hold" button or setting is enabled - but i can't see where or how.

Did you use a backup when you restored?
