I was running the Tricorder.app when i exited clicked home
    the ipod touch suddenly froze
i rebooted it by holding the off and home button down together
but once it booted it was stuck on the apple icon for ever

i then plugged it into itunes and nothing happened for like 1 minute
(Apple still on screen ) then i heard the docking sound and i could acess the ipod from itunes but still stuck on apple icon on the screen
then after about 1 more minute the ipod loaded
    So now is working again

    I'm curious What realy happened?

i had same problem last year with a car game but never had it with the tricorder.app which i ran before without freezing

Did i do correct in how to reboot the ipod when it frooze?
anything i should test to avoid futher problem like this?

i have a quickpwned ipod running winterboard im on firmware 2.1
but i have also many apps i purchased through itunes
not sure if winterboard could be the cause or something?

Well I'm not sure about froozing, but when My ipod freezes I always lay it out in the sun for a good 20-25 minutes (enough time for the ice to melt) You can speed up this process by putting it in your handy microwave on high for 1-2 minutes.

    To avoid this happening again..hmm

You could put the said ipod into a sock (or other cloth like item of clothing) and rub it back and forth in the sock to warm it up (prevents ice from forming).

    Hope this helps.
