Go to "Settings" on your ipod, then General --> About, and where it says "Version" is the firmware you are running

Alternatively, you could plug your iPod into your computer and it'll show you in iTunes. Luke's way is much quicker though, because you don't have to wait for iTunes to load, etc.

The easiest way is to got to settings > about> scroll down and see what version/firmware your on on your ipod touch. Or also take the long long way that if u could jailbreak or not. But thats the last thing i would do.(lol)

Yup, the Settings > About method is the fastest way to check your firmware type... Instant result, rather than having to wait for it to appear on iTunes!
