I had 1.1.3 and my installer would not install anything (It just gave me an error when i tried downloading). So what i did was to put the ipod into a force restore (Pressed home and Power). I followed the usual method to downgrade to 1.1.1, shift click and select 1.1.1 firmware file. It went as planned but then the battery died on my ilaptop when my ipod was rebooting. I plugged my laptop in and unplugged and plugged back in my ipod (my pc wouldnt recognize it). So itunes says i need toi restore it AGAIN which i did. But, it ended in error 1603.

What should i do to fix this? i have tried shift-selecting FW 1.1.1 and 1.1.3. My ipod still has the plug into itunes logo when i turn it on.

Maybe you tried install one package that failed installing.
After a failure in installation it's still in your queue.
Try clearing the queue and agfter that try installing another package!
