Okay, so I decided that I need to use my laptop with my iPod now, but there's a minor setback--my laptop doesn't have the needed drivers for the iPod. I go to reinstall the driver, and it says I need the file "usbaapl.sys" on the Mobile Device Setup Disk. Now, this file seems very hard to locate. I've checked numerous ******* sites, googled it several times, and searched for iPod drivers, but it's not leading me in the right direction. Apparently, it's a Windows driver(right?)

If anyone could shoot me a link to this file, give me a copy of theirs, or even help me in locating it, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    Lenz

If you have windows 2000, you can't use the iPod touch on it...

I have Windows XP. I have the latest version of iTunes, I have tried reinstalling everything apple-related (deleting all associated files in the hard drive and registry), and so on. My brother's iPod is recognized (iPod video), but mine isn't.

I've flipped through page after page of google search results, but nothing is offering help - everything is explaining where on your computer the drivers are. I have those directories, but the folders are empty.

Please, someone has to have the file. It's not that hard to upload....

Okay, I copied the files from my neighbor's computer, so now my iPod is installed. I reinstalled iTunes and all that jazz, but iTunes says that I don't have the right software for my iPod, and I need to reinstall iTunes to fix the problem. I've reinstalled many times. What now?

Man, I really hate to be like this, but surely someone knows how to fix this! Anyone? I've searched the apple website, but nothing. Anyone? Anyone?

    Thanks,
    Lenz

    bugthissh*t: don't cuss at people

    second, the answer:
    download the itunes installer.
Extract it using 7-zip or something.
There is a AppleMobileDevice.msi or something like that
    install
    reboot
    the driver is installed.
