so...., i got my new Ipod Touch.

its the best device ive ever owned.

I started out by playing with my calender, and added reminders for all the upcoming events i can think of.

this thing is great. the fact that it has alarm sounds, but no speaker wasnt a hassle. i just went to BestBuy, and got a new bluetooth speaker system that works with my Touch.

now i can set alarms using MP3s that i stored on my Ipod Touch using the Touch like a USB drive.

wow, i cant believe how well apple put this all together for us consumers.

it was great of apple to "unlock" the ipods during that last patch. now we can really start to use these Ipods at their full potential. software developers have already created thousands of apps that work with the iPod touch and iPhone. i just finished chatting with my granny using the yahoo messenger Flash version. its great that the webbrowser supports so many industry standards. granny said, she has successfully Jailbreaked her iPod touch. she is already installing the new patch as we speak. i warned her that the patch will brick her Pod, but she didnt listen.

Yep....ill bet she bricked it!.....hey, its no problem she said. her new version of itunes allows her to build custom restore images that wont interfere with the 3rd party apps she has installed.

oops, i just got an email alert on my Touch. the email is from Apple. they have another patch ready for download. this patch will dynamically move the docking port from the bottom of the iPod Touch, to the Side, so you can dock it while watching movies.

gotta go now. im downloading a gps hack that interfaces with my steering wheel, so the Ipod can drive the car for me while i am watching movies.

Hope your iPod is as much fun as mine.

ok, its all sarcasm, but in a creative comic way.

Please Apple, get some of these working for us.

sarcasm?? naaaah, i really love my iPaperweight.

its great for playing music, and watching videos, but when i want to accually do something productive, the iPod touch offers nothing useful to me.

the wifi would be great, if there were a few useful applications included. if i could download files into the Touch, and access them, i would be a little happier too.

other names for my iPod touch:

    iMWaitingForApps
    iMGimped
    iGameless
    iNoPhone
    iNeedAContractWithATTToUseCoolApps

all things considered, i love my iPod Touch, and i am anxious for freedom to use it how i want.

Have you tried using the alarm tones? There is indeed a speaker that will play them. They really do work.

The downside is that none of them are really all that alarming.

With all due respect, it would appear that the iPod Touch does exactly what it was designed for; Music and Videos. Now if you want more functionality why not buy an iPhone? I don't think you have to activate the phone if you don't want to (do you?). You can simply use it as the PDA that you were hoping to get from the Touch.

Frankly I think the calendar and alarm functions are a waste of internal storage on the Touch. Personally I would go with the iPhone if it had Exchange mail integration. On the other hand it's nice sometimes to get away from email and phone calls and just enjoy some music or movies.

Hey, you don't like it.. don't buy it.. buy a Zune instead.. so you can "squirt" songs to all your Microsoft buddies.

I am happy with my Touch. While in a meeting today.. I used the meebo chat online to tell a friend that the Yankees will indeed lose tonight.
