Try restoring and during the middle of the restore unplug your iPod. And at the Apple store say I accidentally unplugged it. I forgot I was restoring

ok what you do is you take a USB cord the same one u use for syncing, and then you put the ends of the cable to a high power phone charger so cut the cables of both the charge and the sync cable and rub it againts it while its on, eventually your screen will either crack or turn white, or just burn from the inside, they won't be able to know what hit the iPod.

no becuase the current won't be high, you need to cut your charger and the usb cord and connect those cables as if you where "charging" your iPod, that way it will fry the inside, don't worry you'll just see a little bit of sparks, but since you don't know what I'm talking about Don't even try it.

The other alternative would be slam it into carpet until something from the inside gets soldered off, but just be careful not to break the glass.

lol i love this, "fry it" "slam it into the carpet" its fun breaking things.

I agree with frying it though, they'll probably just assume it was a a power surge.
Make sure its covered in warranty though
