My friends iPod Touch is about a year old, and all of a sudden, the dock connector died.
He has tried multiple computers/cables/docks and NONE of them work.

He has it jailbroken, and is considering taking it to the Apple store.
What will happen if they find out it is jailbroken?
Can they actually take it away if they find out its jailbroken?

Do you think they would just simply replace it?

    Quick Responses are cool =D

but the thing is, the iPod is probably over a year old...
and without an extended warrenty, they really cant do much i guess.

The iPod is Jailbroken, which voids the warranty anyway. You can't replace it.

They can't confiscate your iPod; you paid for it.

Well if the dock connector is completely nonfunctional then it's a hardware issue so if the battery is dead, they'll try to put it through a diagnostic and won't have any luck. iPod won't turn on, so they won't have a clue.

They should replace it with a refurb right then and there at the store.

If it's under a year old, or else it wouldn't be on the 1 year warranty anymore.

Well, there are instances of finding a kind soul/employee who doesn't care either way and would replace it with no questions asked after the diagnostic.

    Always worth a shot lol.
