I've brushed metal many times before (not my ipod though b/c I kept it scratch-free) and I think it's worth it if you do it right. If it's already scratched a tiny bit, I think you should go for it and post pics after.

As long as you go in one direction>start with a rough sandpaper>then med>then fine>and then superfine. It's highly recommended you use a sanding block for this for evenness and time-saving.

I used the back side of a sponge and it worked very nice. I pressed really hard and dug deep into the back and completely remove my serial and little 8GB thing. You can still see the apple logo and the iPod logo but other than that it looks nice.

does anyone know a product that you can use to "scribble" the scratches away but still keep the mirror effect(see your self in it)

Has anyone tried Brasso? I think I tried that with an older ipod and it worked fine.. I don't remember though. Maybe it would damage an ipod touch?

I have not brushed my touch b/c I use a case, but why not cover up the serial number, apple number, and storage display with tape or a sticker or a cut out or something?.. Then you would just have little even unbrushed areas and a neat look...just a theological suggestion.

P.S. good luck with your brushing!!!
