    Hey there!

I tried to jailbreak my Ipod, but when when I restarted it, it never came back to life.

I have tried to do a hard reset on it, but it just get stucked with the apple logo on the screen. The Ipod then reboots after 5 minutes, and so it goes on in an infinite loop. I have tried to connect it to both a mac or PC, but they cant see the Ipod.

Does anybody have any ideas what to do?

    Cheers

    As per the jailbreak thread:

    -Go to home screen.

-Hold down the sleep and home buttons at the same time, until the screen flashes and the iPod turns off AND ON AGAIN.

-RELEASE the sleep button and keep holding the home button. Wait about 15-25 seconds, and you should be able to restore through iTunes.

You MUST be plugged into iTunes this whole time!

It doesn't have too .... i did same thing to mine the other day when messing around with jailbreak....

    As above...

Plug ipod into computer with itunes running....
Press and hold sleep/power button AND home button
Keep them both held while the ipod shutdowns and beings to restart
When apple logo appears release sleep button but keep home held...

Itunes will then say its found an ipod in recovery mode and offers a restore option

Did you do it while connected to iTunes? That is the biggest key.

i also messed my iPod touch up pretty bad, and i had tried millions of times to put it in recovery mode.

Props to everyone in this thread for specifying that you have to have the iPod plugged into the computer when you force restore it, cuz it finally worked for me.

Now i dont feel like as much of an idiot as i did before......

Thanks again! you saved me another $400
