okay i tried doing the jailbreak, and i messed up during the iphuc, so i decided to do a factory restore and it went black, i kept holding the home button, the connet to itune logo didnt appear, so i let go, now the thing doesnt even turn on. anyone got suggestions, i got a good fake excuse to return it, and get a new one hopefully.

    Force a restore.

    While connected to yuor computer:
    1) Hold the Home and sleep button until theiPod turns off.
    2) Keep holding until the iPod turns back on with the Apple Logo.
    3) Once the Apple logo appears, let go of the sleep button, but keep holding the home button.
    4) After some 20 seconds or so, the Apple logo will turn to the iTunes + Cable image. You can lot go oh thehome button now, and iTunes will now restore.

Then you're not holding down the buttons long enough. Keep on until you think it's been too long, then keep holding. After 20, 25 seconds, your iPod will kick over into Recovery Mode and itunes will take care of the rest (after you reconnect it, of course).
