okay so I have 4.0 on my ipod touch 2g, the battery is 100% and the next day it will be dead or super low (20%) and I would only play it for 15-20 mins and the brightness is down all the way and I am not multitasking.

I want to know why it all of a sudden dies so quickly, even if I just lock/sleep it (button on the top of ipod) its dead the next morning.. is it an app or cydia package that is running when not supposed to?

also when fully charged my ipod will say 100% then the second I unplug it, it goes to 97% and rapidly discharges.

My moms ipod is the same after jailbreaking 4.0

Turn on aeroplane mode, that saves alot of battery.

but I use my wifi a lot, for apps ect. but the tiny bit of wifi shouldn't kill the battery like that, my ipod used to last days with brightness half up and playing for hours.

    (this was on 3.1.x days)

4.0 makes the wifi stay on in sleep mode. Thus draining your battery. I know, I have the same problem and I hate it.

Turn on aeroplane mode when not using it, turn off push notifications.

also it might just be that your battery is going bad.
My first gen ipod touch only lasts about 30 minutes of straight music playing, and then turns itself off. and i'm on like firmware 3.x x something.

Turn wifi off when not using your device.

    Do that quickly with SBSettings.
