i recently jailbroke my ipod 2g using blackra1n...i wasnt sure if my device was tethered or not so i turned it off, now it shows the boot screen (default apple logo) then it dims out after a few secs and completely turns off

i tried to do the tethered boot by running blackra1n again i get geohots screen and get the "wait for reboot" msg but device wont rebbot just turns off again...HELP ME PLEASE...as of now im considering it bricked :/

btw sometimes if i time it right i get the normal recovery screen (itunes logo with ipod connector under neath)

    dont worry

well, that's always happened to my ipod touches both 8g and 16g. just keep running the blackrain jailbreak app over and over until it finally completes. DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR IPOD TOUCH! leave it plugged in until it fully restarts (without the blackrain jailbreak logo). Also, when its finally jailbroken DO NOT install cydia and rock app at the same time as it will mess everything up and you'll have to do another restore.

if that fails (which it has never for me) put your touch in DFU mode, open itunes, and plug it into your computer.

    Good Luck!

and lemme know if this works for you, i know you practically dying lols. cause i was at first.

restored my pod to 3.1.2...but the piece of sh*t wont jailbreak

i tried running blackra1n over and over 1st run it goes to normal recovery...every run after tht is just a black screen..blackra1n still runs all the way but dnt get geos pic or a auto reboot...

should i restore back to 2.2.1 (original fw wen i got it) and start over?

    UPDATE:

How sure are you that it's a 2G? What's the model number? (Settings > General > About)

    Well, that's a 3G. MC models are 3G, MB models are 2G.
