I have successfully semi-tether jailbroken my iPod 2G with Winterboard and Cydia working along with being able to boot into Normal Mode. I have experienced not being able to boot into Normal Mode with the Apple Logo fixed on the screen. This occurred even after the proper installation of the Winterboard patches. I have re-jailbroken many times in order to find a cause to this problem and have realized a fairly simple error. It seems that the iPod will boot into Normal Mode when the iSpazio Upgrade to Cydia is not installed. Once upgraded, the boot into Normal Mode will not happen. So as for now, if you have applied the proper patches to Winterboard and have gotten Cydia to work and the problem still exists, I would suggest not updating iSpazio and hopefully it will allow you to boot into Normal Mode once again. Hope this helps some of you will this minor problem.

That's very odd then because I am unable to boot into Normal Mode once the update is applied. Thanks for your enlightenment on the situation. I wonder why it would prevent it for me. :S

Did you install the update before or after the winterboard patch?

At the time, I believe it was before. When I tested it to be sure it was the update, Winterboard was not installed.

The first thing I did when I jailbroke was go into Cydia and installed the update. Was the other update for you openssl?

What guide did you use to jailbreak? I used the HD video guide.
